Caldwell College Recognized as a Military Spouse Friendly Institution
Caldwell College is expanding its outreach and programs to members of the military and their spouses. The college has been recognized as a military spouse friendly institution by the website www.military.com/spouse.
Colleges and universities that receive the military spouse friendly institution designation have many attributes that cater to the unique lifestyle and situation of military spouses such as spouse scholarships, distance learning programs, evening or weekend programs and tuition discounts for spouses. The Military Spouse Career Center web site, www.military.com/spouse was developed and operated by Monster and Military.com under contract on behalf of the Department of Defense, Office of Military Community and Family Policy.
"Caldwell’s liberal transfer policies, distance learning courses and over 27 undergraduate degree programs make Caldwell College a perfect place for active military, veterans and their families to complete their college educations," said Dennis R. DeLong, Dean of the Center for Graduate and Continuing Studies.
Caldwell also participates in the ConAP, the Concurrent Admissions Program for enlistees and SOC, the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges. ConAP provides a point-of-contact at Caldwell College to assist the enlisting soldier. As a SOC institution Caldwell uses it’s liberal credit transfer policy to the benefit of service members.
"We are pleased that Caldwell College has been classified as a military spouse friendly institution. For the College to reach out to members of the military and their spouses is a natural extension of our mission generally and our long-term commitment to serve adult learners with innovative, accessible and high quality undergraduate and graduate programs," DeLong said. "Caldwell College recognizes the vital role that the enlisted active duty men and women and the National Guard and Reservists have performed for the American people and the sacrifices their families have undergone during the deployment of loved ones."
