Donate Books for Underprivileged Children in New Jersey
Psychology Professor Stacey Solomon and Education students Kimberly Glassman and Tamara Ranieri are holding a book drive to collect books for the Bridge of Books Foundation.
The Bridge of Books Foundation is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing the world and all its possibilities to New Jersey's at-risk and underprivileged children through books. The Bridge of Books Foundation provides new and gently used books directly to children from preschool through age eighteen. The Bridge of Books foundation gets books into the hands of children who need them.
Bridge of Books has already found that the need for books for underprivileged children in New Jersey is enormous. Data from the 1998 US Census indicates that over 29,000 people of all ages live at or below the poverty line in Monmouth County alone. Their mission is to make every effort possible to meet a need that many low-income parents do not have the luxury or ability to provide books to their children.
Caldwell College will be collecting books until April 1, 2008. Please bring books you would like to donate to Dr. Stacey Solomon in the Psychology Suite room 6329.
