Caldwell College Unveils New Brand Promise Statement

Faculty and staff attended a Town Hall Meeting on November 13 for the unveiling of the Caldwell College Brand Promise Statement.

College President Sister Patrice Werner, O.P., Ph.D. said the new brand promise statement articulates "who and what we are as a community and what we deliver." She said the statement was the result of over a year's work by the Marketing Task Force. Sister Patrice recognized the work of the members of the task force-Lisa Dibisceglie, Mark Corino, Sharon Dwyer, Tom Keen, Colette Liddy, Bob Mann, Joe Posillico, Kathryn Reilly, Joe Savage, Joe Thomas, Linda Maher from Graphic Imagery and Sheila O'Rourke.

Faculty and staff were invited to sign a large colorful brand promise statement banner as a symbol of their commitment to keep the promise.Business Professor and Marketing task force member Tom Keen explained the process the College went through to come to the decision to adopt this particular brand promise statement. He said that the taskforce worked with the company Stamats on a six phase research plan which involved various activities ranging from talking to employees on campus to conducting surveys and evaluations. The task force then decided on a final version.

Sister Patrice Werner said that "what is important is that this statement is a consensus statement." She said that for her, "it's a consciousness-raising." Sister Patrice said that the challenge is for employees to find a small way, each and every day to fulfill the statement. She pointed out that banners are now on campus reminding employees of the brand promise statement.

Executive Director of Human Resources Sheila O'Rourke said that over the next several months, the College will be incorporating the brand promise statement and its themes into team building initiatives. She said that the current program of recognizing colleagues and their outstanding work called "The Fishbowl", will be re-named, "Keep the Promise".

Campaign materials for the new brand promise statement were created by Linda Maher and Graphic Imagery. New banners hanging in front of the Academic Building were the first of many visual statements to be seen around campus. These banners were donated by an anonymous alumni.
