Caldwell College Signs Formal Affiliation Agreement with Columbia University

Continuing the tradition of aligning with other outstanding institutions, Caldwell College has signed a formal affiliation agreement with Columbia University in New York City for a combined BA in Psychology or BA in Biology and MS in Occupational Therapy. This 5-year program option provides Caldwell College psychology majors with the opportunity to take 3 years of coursework at Caldwell, then 2 years at Columbia, earning both their BA and MS degrees.

Traditional separate programs would take a minimum of 6 years to complete. This program allows qualified students to finish in 5 years.

“This cooperative education agreement offers the opportunity for highly motivated and talented Caldwell College students to pursue a combined undergraduate and graduate course of study in the field of Occupational Therapy in an accelerated format,” said Paul Douillard, Ph.D., Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs at Caldwell College. “The OT program at Columbia University attracts students from all over the world and provides its students with an outstanding preparation in this very competitive field.”

Caldwell College students are not guaranteed admission into the Columbia OT program, but must apply for admission when they are eligible. Once accepted, satisfactory completion of first year courses at Columbia will “double count”. They will fulfill graduation requirements for a BA in Psychology or BA in Biology from Caldwell and count towards first-year coursework in an MS in OT from Columbia.
