10th Annual Principals’ Conference to Feature Expert on Educational Neuroscience

Caldwell College’s 10th annual Principals’ Leadership Conference will take place on June 11, 2010. Featured presenter Dr. David A. Sousa will speak on the topic “Translating Brain Research to Educational Practice: An Exciting Update.” He will also conduct two workshop sessions entitled “How to Tell if Your School is Brain-Compatible.”
Dr. Sousa is an internationally recognized consultant and author in Educational Neuroscience. He has made presentations to more than 100,000 educators at conferences around the world. He is the author of seven books and has been interviewed by the NBC-TV Today show and National Public Radio.
Dr. Sousa holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University and a doctorate from Rutgers University. He taught at the American School of Paris, served as president of the National Staff Development Council, and spent five years as a Foreign Service Officer and Science Advisor at the U.S. diplomatic missions in Switzerland and Austria.
Conference brochures will be mailed to school principals in late February. Additional workshops options including strategies for teaching literacy and mathematics will be included in the conference offerings.
