Attend Annual Principals Leadership Conference at Caldwell College
Caldwell College in association with the NJ League of Schools, a non-profit educational organization, will once again sponsor the 8th Annual Principals' Leadership Conference on Friday, May 9, 2008. This year's featured presenter will be the distinguished author, researcher, and lecturer Robert J. Marzano, the author or co-author of numerous ASCD publications. Among Marzano's publications are: What Works in Schools: Translating Research into Action; Classroom Instruction that Works: Research-based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement, Classroom Management that Works: Research-Based Strategies for Every Teacher. His keynote presentation will be entitled: "Designing & Assessing Quality Instruction for All Students".
The conference will commence at 8:00 a.m. with coffee and registration until 8:45 a.m. Marzano's keynote address will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. He will then present two consecutive workshops on the topic of "Using What Works to Design Assessment."
Conferees will also be invited to choose among four other workshops. The workshop sessions will each be repeated from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The Conference will conclude with lunch from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
The registration fee for the day including lunch is $125.00 for public school administrators or teachers. School teams of four or more from the same school district will be granted a 20% discount. Parochial school administrators or teachers will be charged $75.00 and graduate students who show their graduate school identification are granted a reduced fee of $65.00. No refunds will be granted after May 2, 2008.
The additional workshops will include Writer's Workshop by Caldwell College Associate Professor Dr. Walter Cmielewski, A Continuous Assessment of Special Needs Students by Caldwell College Professor Dr. Joanne Seelaus, and Quality Education: It's the Law by Caldwell College Professor Dr. Edith Ries. Another workshop entitled Designing Units of Instruction, Backwards will be presented by Dr. Gayle Carrick, superintendent of schools and teachers from the Tewksbury Township public schools.
