College Business Student Wins First Prize in State-wide Entrepreneur Competition
Caldwell College Business student Justin Bolasci has won first prize in the 2007 East Coast Collegiate Entrepreneur NJ competition for his business, North Jersey Kettle Corn.
Bolasci was awarded $1,000.00 at the ceremony at FDU Madison on May 2.
North Jersey Kettle Corn offers freshly-made gourmet Kettle Corn and all-natural drinks. The company travels to various fairs, festivals, feasts, and holiday events in the Tri-state area. Bolasci said he makes his Kettle Corn fresh every ten minutes and the visitors to his booth at festivals “love the experience of watching the Kettle Corn being made on location using old fashioned traditional methods.”
Bolasci started his business in early 2006, just after he transferred
to Caldwell College.
He said he was honored to be considered for the award and “very
grateful to the Caldwell Business professors for all their support and
encouragement.” He says he looks forward to expanding his business
activities, as he pursues his college career.
The 2007 East Coast competition was open to undergraduate-level students who run their own businesses while enrolled in colleges, universities, technical or career schools located in the state.
Administered by FDU’s Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies, the program is affiliated with the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards competition presented by Mercedes-Benz Financial and produced by Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
