To the Campus Community:

I am delighted to report to our College Community that our strategic plan, Caldwell College 2010: Excellence in Action has been completed and is ready for dissemination.

As I mentioned at our All-College Meeting, the strategic plan owes much to the work of the Planning Council over the past two years.  The Council, whose members represent a cross section of faculty and administrators, has worked closely with me in examining our progress as an institution toward the six priorities contained in our current plan, Caldwell College 2005: Agenda for Excellence.  I am pleased to report to you that nearly all of the plan’s objectives have been met and, in some cases, exceeded their targets by a wide margin.  As a campus community we should be very proud of our achievements!

To stand still in higher education is to fall back.  The Planning Council, therefore, reexamined the original six priorities and, based on current needs and perceptions, has added three new goals.  The document briefly explains the rationale behind each goal and offers a variety of strategies for achieving the stated priorities.

As the tenth priority: “Hold ourselves, as a campus community, accountable for accomplishing the institutional priorities and the collective vision they represent.”  This is our—yours and mine—common goal.  Working together with God’s help and guidance, I am confident that we will accomplish our priorities and enable the institution to continue its pursuit of excellence.
