How to Create Persistent Links to Full-Text Articles in EBSCOhost Databases

Including Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, CINAHL, ERIC, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO

  1. Conduct a Search and find the article of interest.
  2. Display the record for the article by clicking on the article title----not the icon for full text or pdf.
  3. Copy the "Persistent Link to this Record:" URL from citation screen.
  4. Paste the link into Blackboard or your document.

Example:

A persistent link to an article in EBSCOhost database would look like this:

http://ezproxy.caldwell.edu:2048/login?url=http://search.epnet.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&an=19494290

  1. Conduct a search and find the article of interest
  2. Display the record for the article by clicking on the article title----not the icon for full text or pdf.
  3. Copy the “Document URL” from the citation screen.
  4. Paste the link into Blackboard or your document.

A document URL in ProQuest Database would look like this:

How to Create Persistent Links to Full Text Articles in Grove Databases

  1. Conduct a search and find the article of interest
  2. To ensure that session information is not in the URL (the link will not be persistent if it has session information in it), select the article title in the contents bar on the left side of the screen.
  3. Now, highlight and copy the URL from the Browser address window
  4. Paste the link into Blackboard or your document.
  5. Add the library’s EZproxy prefix to the “Document URL.”

Example:

A document URL in the Grove Art Database would look like this:
http://www.groveart.com/shared/views/article.html?section=art.990974#art.990974

The complete link for the example above would look like this:
http://ezproxy.caldwell.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.groveart.com/shared/views/article.html?section=art.990974#art.990974

  3. Click on “Persistent URL: Click to copy the full text (PDF or HTML) article link”.
  4. Use CTRL <c> to copy and CTRL <v> to paste the link into Blackboard or your document.
