JerseyCat, New Jersey’s Virtual Catalog and Interlibrary Loan System, provides access to  library catalogs throughout the state.  JerseyCat also provides you with an online interlibrary loan system that can be used from your home, school or office.

SEARCHING JerseyCat

To do a keyword search, type in your search term. Place a checkmark next to the catalogs you wish to search. The union catalog should be checked by default. Click on the “Search” button.

When the search is finished click on one of the blue library links where there are results.

Select  the link to the item you want to see  by clicking on the blue underlined title.

The “Advanced Search” allows you to use the Boolean qualifiers -- “and,” “or,” and “not.” Using the "and" you can search for a specific title  and author. Using the "or"   qualifier you can search for shell shock "or" combat fatigue.  Using "not" you can eliminate part of your search results, for example,  JFK "not" airport.

SUBMITTING INTERLIBRARY LOAN REQUESTS FROM JerseyCat

From the item you are viewing, click on the ILL drop down box. Highlight and click on “Request This Item”. This will request the item from the library selected. 

After clicking on the  submit button, a request form will appear. Fill in the required patron information:

1. Your full name.
2. A password of your own choosing (this can help you track your request)
3. Your telephone number and your Caldwell College e-mail address.
4. Submit your request.

This will send your request to our Awaiting Approval file. You will be notified when the item that you requested arrives.
