Floor Plan

Finding your way in the Jennings Library can be confusing at first. One reason for the confusion is that the front of the building consists of two floors while the back of the building has three floors. This configuration leads to the Library having two separate stairwells.

The front set of stairs, those you see upon immediately entering the building, leads to the Curriculum Lab which houses the curriculum materials (textbooks, teachers’ editions, etc.) and a large collection of juvenile books, an Instruction Lab with a listening room, a study area with carrels, and circulating books with the call numbers 000 through 351.

Walking directly through the main lobby of the library will lead you to the rear stairwell. This set of stairs provides access to the circulating books on three levels:

1st floor 823-999
2nd floor 700-822
3rd floor (new stacks) 000-351
3rd floor (old stacks) 352-699 & Juvenile Dept.

In the main lobby you will find a photocopier, two Calcat (our online catalog) terminals, and the circulation desk where you can check out or return materials. Reserve materials, as well as pick-up for Interlibrary Loan, are found here as well.

To the right of the lobby, signs will lead you to the Periodical Reading Room. To the left, you will see the Reference Room. In addition to the collection of reference books, the Reference Room contains a number of computers which access the Internet, library’s subscription databases, and our online catalog, Calcat. Microfilm and microfiche reader printers are housed in a small room at the rear of the Reference Room.

There are study carrels on each floor of the library. Restrooms are located on the first floor of the lobby, lower level and the second floor, near the Curriculum Library.
