Title: Administrator/Head Lacrosse Coach

Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time Administrator/Head Lacrosse Coach, Athletics.  Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Athletics the Administrator/Coach will serve as recreation and intramural coordinator, facilitator of Student-Athlete Affairs programming, supervisor of athletic home events, and Head Lacrosse Coach.

Administrator job duties include, but are not limited to;

•    Serving as the primary coordinator for recreation and intramural programs for students, staff, and faculty.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  a) Supervising and scheduling recreational sport events, b) Maintaining and updating recreational sports manual, c) Promoting and publicizing intramural and recreational events on campus, d) Supervising recreational and intramural student staff members, e) assessing programs, f) preparing budget information.
•    Serving as the primary coordinator of the Student Athlete Mentor program. Assisting with the development and implementation of programming addressing academic, career, and personal development for student athletes.
•    Coordinating operations for athletic and special events.  Serving as on-site supervisor for home events.
•    Developing an evaluation process for programs and conduct assessments as needed.
•    Attending and participating in various College and athletic functions.
•    Representing the College at conferences and local association meetings.
•    Soliciting sponsors for event promotions.
Head Coach duties include, but are not limited to;
•    Developing and executing the team philosophy.
•    Advising the coaching staff and student athletes on NCAA rules and policies.  Working with the Assistant Director to ensure ongoing program compliance.  Attending meetings and workshops as necessary.
•    Supervising all games, scrimmages and practices.
•    Recruiting student-athletes and recommending students who should receive athletic grant and scholarships.
•    Directing, supervising, and evaluating assistant coaches, working with the Assistant Director to maintain accurate records.
•     Surveying opponents when applicable.
•    Supplying the Sports Information Director with team and individual student athlete information.
•    Preparing and submitting the annual budget.
•    Ensuring travel arrangements and driving if necessary.
•    Overseeing the preparation, distribution, and collection of equipment inventory for the program.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two to three years of effective experience in athletic coaching required.  Must possess certification in CPR and first aid, and successfully complete NCAA, Division II Rules Test. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Candidates must be willing to support the Catholic Dominican mission of the college.

Title: Director, Athletic Media Relations

Caldwell University invites applications for a full time Director, Athletic Media Relations. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Athletics, the Director is responsible for writing sports news releases, preparing media guides, maintaining the athletics website and reporting statistics. Specific duties include, but are not limited to;

• Creating, designing, researching, writing, and editing content for various forms of media (including print, radio, social media and web).
• Promoting Caldwell University student athletes for conferences, regional and national honors.
• Attending all home athletic contests, gathering and reporting statistics, results, and game stories. Taking photos as needed. Providing statistics and stories to conference and NCAA. Ensuring coverage for home events to include; statisticians/scorekeepers, student workers and game event workers.
• Traveling to conference championships, NCAA Tournaments, and selected in season events.
• Assisting the Assistant Vice President with licensing and using athletic marks for any purpose.
• Supervising internet broadcasts of live home events and serving as the liaison to BoxCast.
• Supervising the Athletic Administrator and student interns to assist with selected sports information duties.

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related, proficient in MS Office plus one to two years of effective experience is required. Must be available to work evenings and weekends and travel as required. Experience with a content management system is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Stat Crew statistical software is helpful. The successful candidate will be a detail oriented individual with the ability to manage competing priorities. This successful candidate will also have excellent written and verbal communications skills and can work effectively both in a team setting and independently. Assistant Women’s Track and Field Coach (part-time)

Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Women’s Track and Field Coach is responsible for assisting with team coaching duties and student athlete management. The Assistant Coach is also responsible for directing and overseeing all activities the team participates in, while communicating and integrating the mission of the College and the philosophy of the Athletic Department within the program. Job Duties include but are not limited to, assisting with student athlete recruitment, ensuring proper maintenance of records, supplying the compliance officer with required paperwork, supporting the head coach in the coaching and managing the total intercollegiate program, scouting opponents when applicable, assisting in the coaching and supervising of all games, scrimmages, and practices, making travel arrangements, and driving vehicles if necessary.

Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field, plus one to two years of effective experience required. Must have a valid driver’s license. CPR certification and the successful completion of the NCAA recruiting test will also be required after the employee has been hired. Candidates must be willing to support the Catholic Dominican, liberal arts mission of the University.
