Title: Associate Director/Head Coach, Women’s Basketball

Caldwell College invites applications for a full-time Associate Director, Athletics/Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Reporting to the Executive Director, Athletics, the Associate Director is responsible for supporting the department’s commitment to the development of the total student-athlete through a balance of excellence in both academics and athletics. The Associate Director will also assume the NCAA title of Senior Women’s Administrator (SWA). The Head Coach is responsible for directing a tier one sports program, supervising and overseeing all activities of the coaching staff and team while communicating and integrating the mission of the College and the philosophy of the Athletics Department into the program. Specific job duties of the Associate Director include, but are not limited to;

  • Serving as a role model for student athletes and educating them on issues affecting intercollegiate athletics.
  • Assisting the Executive Director in executing the daily operations and administration of the department.
  • Collaborate with the Development and Alumni Affairs Office on fundraising opportunities and events administered by Cougar Pride Athletic Organization.
  • Chairing and overseeing the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
  • Assisting with the administration of the department’s gender-equity action plan.
  • Attending various athletic conferences and representing institution on NCAA committees 
  • Assuming other administrative responsibilities as assigned by Executive Director.

Bachelor’s degree plus effective experience within athletics and coaching is required. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Gmail and Google Drives is also required. Master’s degree is preferred. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, be attentive to details, able to prioritize, and build effective relationships across all levels of institution.

Head Women’s Bowling Coach (Part-time)

Caldwell College invites applications for a part-time Head Women’s Bowling Coach. Reporting to the Executive Director, Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for directing, supervising and overseeing all activities of the coaching staff and team while communicating and integrating the mission of the College and the philosophy of the Athletics Department into the program. Job Duties include, but are not limited to, advising the Athletics staff and Bowling team of CACC and NCAA rules and policies and ensuring compliance with those rules and policies, supervising all games, scrimmages and practices, recruiting student-athletes and recommending students who should receive athletic grant and scholarships, working with compliance office to maintain accurate records, passing the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, surveying opponents when applicable, supplying the Director, Athletic Communications with team and individual student athlete information, preparing and submitting the annual budget, ensuring travel arrangements, driving if necessary, overseeing the preparation, distribution, and collection of equipment inventory for the tennis program, developing and executing the team philosophy, representing the institution at meetings and conferences, and participating in various College and Athletic functions.

Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field, plus one to two years of effective experience required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be willing to support the Catholic Dominican, liberal arts mission of the College.


Head Women’s Tennis Coach (Part-Time)

Reporting to the Executive Director, Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for directing, supervising and overseeing all activities of the coaching staff and team while communicating and integrating the mission of the College and the philosophy of the Athletics Department into the program. Job Duties include, but are not limited to, advising the Athletics staff and Tennis team of CACC and NCAA rules and policies and ensuring compliance with those rules and policies, supervising all games, scrimmages and practices, recruiting student-athletes and recommending students who should receive athletic grant and scholarships, working with compliance office to maintain accurate records, passing the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, surveying opponents when applicable, supplying the Director, Athletic Communications with team and individual student athlete information, preparing and submitting the annual budget, ensuring travel arrangements, driving if necessary, overseeing the preparation, distribution, and collection of equipment inventory for the tennis program, developing and executing the team philosophy, representing the institution at meetings and conferences, and participating in various College and Athletic functions.

Assistant Men’s Baseball Coach (PT)

Caldwell College invites applications for a part-time Assistant Baseball Coach beginning Fall 2013. Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for assisting with team coaching duties and student athlete management. The Assistant Coach is also responsible for directing and overseeing all activities the team participates in, while communicating and integrating the mission of the College and the philosophy of the Athletic Department within the program. Job Duties include but are not limited to, assisting with student athlete recruitment, ensuring proper maintenance of records, supplying the compliance officer with required paperwork, supporting the head coach in the coaching and managing the total intercollegiate program, scouting opponents when applicable, assisting in the coaching and supervising of all games, scrimmages, and practices, making travel arrangements, and driving vehicles if necessary.

Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field, plus one to two years of effective experience required. Must have a valid driver’s license. CPR certification and the successful completion of the NCAA recruiting test will also be required after the employee has been hired. Candidates must be willing to support the Catholic Dominican, liberal arts mission of the College.
