The following is Caldwell College’s policy statement to comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1998.

Caldwell College upholds the laws of the Federal Government and Title 24 of the Statutes of New Jersey which prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession or use of controlled substances in the workplace.  This includes marijuana, cocaine, or other hallucinogens and narcotic drugs, as well as alcohol.

In the interest of maintaining a safe and productive work environment, the College may immediately terminate any employee who uses, buys, sells, is under the influence of, or is in possession of illegal drugs or controlled substances (including marijuana) on the College’s property or during working hours, including lunch and other break periods.

In addition, employees are not to consume, or be under the influence of, alcoholic beverages on the College’s property or during working hours.

If you have a problem with alcohol or drugs, we strongly urge you to seek confidential professional help.  Information about rehabilitation programs is available on a confidential basis from the Executive Director of Human Resources.
