


WRITING SAMPLE REQUIREMENTS BY PROGRAM
All writing samples should be typed, double-spaced, and use standard margins
M.B.A.: In at least 200 words (typed), state your objectives for entering this graduate program.
M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction: In 1-2 typed pages, state your goals/objectives for entering the Curriculum and Instruction master’s program.
M.A. in Educational Administration: Explain in a typed essay of at least 750 words why you wish to be a school principal and/or supervisor; the leadership experiences you have had; and what specific leadership traits you believe you possess that would support your success in that position.
M.A. in Special Education: Submit an essay of at least 5 pages, preferably related to special education, that you previously submitted as part of an undergraduate or graduate course.
Post-Master’s Supervisor’s Certificate: In at least 200 words (typed), state your objectives for entering this graduate program.
Post-Baccalaureate Special Education Certificate: Submit an essay of at least 5 pages, preferably related to special education, that you previously submitted as part of an undergraduate or graduate course.
Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certificate: In at least 200 words (typed), state your objectives for entering this graduate program.
M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis: Submit a research-based paper in psychology or education of at least ten pages that was previously submitted in an undergraduate or graduate course. Other subject matter may be considered if the candidate has had limited prior psychology or education work.
M.A. in Counseling Psychology: Submit a research-based paper of at least 10 pages that was previously submitted in an undergraduate or graduate psychology course. APA style preferred. Other subject matter and/or formatting may be considered if the candidate has limited psychology coursework.
M.A. in Counseling Psychology with Art Therapy Specialization: Submit a research-based paper of at least 10 pages that was previously submitted in an undergraduate or graduate psychology or art therapy course. APA style preferred. Other subject matter and/or formatting may be considered if the candidate has limited psychology coursework.
M.A. in Counseling Psychology with School Counseling Specialization: Submit a research-based paper of at least 10 pages that was previously submitted in an undergraduate or graduate psychology course. APA style preferred. Other subject matter and/or formatting may be considered if the candidate has limited psychology coursework.

M.A. in Pastoral Ministry: Submit an essay of at lest 550 words that addresses your hopes for working toward the advancement of the Reign of God, your vision of and aspirations for ministry in the Church, and your reasons for wanting to enroll in this program.
