An Invitation to Challenge

Graduate programs at Caldwell College offer students a unique opportunity to broaden their intellectual horizons while deepening their understanding of the principles of a chosen discipline.Proud Member of the Council oc Graduate Schools We offer career-related degrees and programs that prepare students with advanced knowledge and skills appropriate to specific professional goals, all in a context of ethical and social responsibility. The hallmark of a Caldwell College education is small class size, individual attention, and a quality faculty and staff committed to our students.

Founded in 1939 by the Sisters of Saint Dominic, Caldwell is one of sixteen Dominican colleges and universities in the United States that participate in the 800-year commitment to quality higher education that typifies the worldwide Dominican Order. Founded in France in the thirteenth century by Dominic Guzman, from their beginning the Dominicans established their presence at the great university centers in Europe in order to study and teach at the crossroads of knowledge. This tradition embraces such diverse names as theologian Thomas Aquinas, artist Fra Angelico, social reformer Catherine of Siena, champion of the indigenous peoples Bartolome de las Casas, and the preacher and writer Henri Lacordaire.

Rooted in this global tradition, Caldwell College challenges the graduate student to seek not merely the symptoms of world problems but their systemic solution; not just information about a given discipline but the principles by which it flourishes; not only a body of facts but creative integration of that awareness into models for tomorrow's world.

Faculty

Caldwell faculty are passionate teachers and experienced practitioners of their subject matter. Graduate students are intellectually challenged, academically enriched, and professionally prepared by faculty who serve as mentors and colleagues. The majority of Caldwell's graduate faculty are full time members of the College faculty. These are supplemented with select adjuncts who bring critical professional experience into the classroom. Almost 100% of all graduate faculty hold the Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree, and have a record of publications and presentations in their respective fields.

Each graduate program is directed by a full time faculty member who serves as both program coordinator and the students' academic advisor. Click here to see a listing of the core graduate faculty.
