Five-Year Combined B.A./M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction

The purpose of this program is to allow students to complete their course of study over a five-year period, and at the end of that five-year period leave Caldwell College with a B.A. in their chosen major (e.g. chemistry, biology, mathematics), K-12 Teaching Certification in their major or K-6 Elementary Education Certification, AND an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction (A cumulative GPA of 3.0 must be maintained to stay in the program).

The coursework focuses in three main areas of study:

  1. The CORE curriculum
  2. The content area or subject matter major (e.g., chemistry, biology, mathematics, English and social studies)
  3. Education coursework leading to a teaching credential and graduate degree
