FINANCIAL AID DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR ADULT UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE STUDENTS (MATRICULATING AND/OR CERTIFICATE)

Students who wish to be considered for all types of financial aid from all three sources (federal, state, and institutional) must do the following:

  • All returning students who wish to apply for state, federal, and institutional aid must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) resulting in a Student Aid Report.
  • First time aid applicants or first time Caldwell College applicants must complete and submit the FAFSA and the Caldwell College On-line Financial Aid Application (below). Please note that the Federal Government will no longer provide paper applications to College Financial Aid Offices in 2008-2009. If you prefer to fill out a paper application you can request one by calling 1-800-433-3243.
  • It is important to file as early as possible, but no earlier than January 1st of the academic year you are applying for assistance.
  • Financial Aid applicants may be asked to submit a signed copy of their most recent income tax return in addition to verification of any untaxed income received.
  • If more than one person in the family is in college, verification of that individual(s) enrollment must be submitted within two weeks after the semester begins. Failure to do so will result in a recalculation of need, based on one in college.
  • If an eligible non-citizen applies for assistance, he/she will be required to bring in the alien registration card so it can be copied for the file.
  • Points of information:
    • Eligibility for a Stafford Loan requires at least half-time enrollment. Please remember if you are eligible for and assume the responsibility of a student loan, you must remain at least a half-time student.
    • IF YOU REGISTER FOR SIX CREDITS, THEN DROP TO THREE, IT WILL MEAN THE ENTIRE LOAN GOES BACK TO THE BANK AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TUITION.
    • Eligibility for a New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant requires full-time enrollment (12 or more credits).
  • The Financial Aid Office Staff is here to serve our students. Any questions can be directed to 973-618-3221.
