A letter from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees

Dear Friends,

As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Caldwell College, I have been privileged to witness first-hand how the rich tradition of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell has impacted the lives of our students. I am proud to have worked with this outstanding religious congregation and my fellow trustees of Caldwell College who, along with the administration, have developed a bold and exciting strategic plan called “2010 Excellence in Action.”

The priorities and strategies of “2010 Excellence in Action” are focused on establishing Caldwell College as an academically competitive, technologically sophisticated, well regarded Catholic liberal arts institution in the tradition of Saint Dominic. The full-time student body is becoming more geographically diverse and soon nearly 50 percent of our students will live on campus. This initiative is in keeping with the “Blueprint for Excellence,” issued by the State of New Jersey, which calls for the colleges and universities to support a growing and increasingly diverse population of New Jersey students and attract them to New Jersey institutions.

The Caldwell College capital campaign has been launched to provide a minimum of $8 million in philanthropic financial support to fund the priorities and objectives of the “2010 Excellence in Action.” This funding will give Caldwell College the tools necessary to strengthen and enhance its reputation. As we move forward, in the Dominican tradition, all of us are called to add our own voice and vision to that which joins us together in our shared commitment to Caldwell College. Thank you for your support!

Steve Freeman
Chairman of the Board of Trustees
