One of the top jazz guitarists of our time, Paul Meyers combines a deep understanding of the jazz tradition with strong influences of Brazilian, Latin and classical music to create a truly unique sound.
The Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell University and Montclair Art Museum will co-host the Scholastic Art Awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a 90-year-old national program that identifies and develops creative teenagers and offers scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors.
The Northern New Jersey Region Award Ceremony and Opening Reception will be held
Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the gallery on Caldwell’s campus.
Due to the growing number of high school student participants in the competition, the Montclair Art Museum, which has hosted the Scholastic Art Awards since 2009, will coordinate with the Caldwell University to display the work of these talented young artists.
The Montclair Art Museum continues to serve as the sole affiliate sponsor of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in New Jersey. The competition at MAM focuses on visual art. Its area of service includes the counties of Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren.
As the New Jersey affiliate of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, MAM partners with the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers to identify and recognize teenagers with exceptional artistic talent and offers opportunities to gain national recognition and scholarships for their work. Caldwell University will present “Focus on Sicily VI” 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in the Alumni Theatre. In the event of snow, the lecture will take place Sunday, Feb. 23.
Dr. Gaetano Salemi, the regular lecturer for the series, will appear for the sixth year in a row and will speak on the topic “Palermo and Naples: A Tale of Two Cities.” Reservations are not necessary. Admission is $20, and credit cards will not be accepted. Call 973-618-3000, extension 3931, for information.
Gaetano is also working on a tour of Naples and Campania for June. Seats may be available to the general public after students have registered. Those interested should email Dr. Sally Jo Weber at email@example.com.
Last year Caldwell University students, faculty, staff and administration came out for the 1st Annual T.A.G. – Thank a Giver – Day, sponsored by the Development and Alumni Affairs Department. Over 300 students signed thank you cards and were treated to some gourmet goodies and entered into a raffle for a chance to win an i-pad mini or an i-pod touch. Cooper the Cougar joined us that day for some fun and games.
This year, on Wednesday, February 26th, we will be celebrating our 2nd Annual T.A.G. – Thank a Giver – Day and would once again like to invite all students, faculty, staff and administration to come out and say thank you.
Join us from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Student Center Hall of Flags for some fun and gourmet goodies. Sign a thank you postcard and be entered into our raffle for this year’s chance to win an Apple TV or a Google Chromecast. First 100 students to sign a postcard will receive an additional chance to win!
Purple TAGS are placed around campus to show all the ways donor generosity has supported a Caldwell University education. Every building, every classroom, every day, each and every student here is affected by this generosity – come out and say thank you!
T.A.G. Day is a nationally sponsored CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) initiative. Caldwell University is proud to host this event in conjunction with CASE to join in the national wave of enthusiasm in thanking our donors!

Summer College at Caldwell (SCAC) is a program designed for current high school juniors who will be seniors in the fall of 2014 (Class of 2015). SCAC provides students the opportunity to earn three college credits while studying science, medicine and math. This unique opportunity also incorporates SAT test taking strategies, academic field trips, and a taste of the college experience, with students meeting new friends while living on the Caldwell University campus. The program includes room and board, books, supplies and field trips.
Don’t miss out on our Spring Job and Internship Fair! Employers from a variety of organizations recruiting students and recent graduates for internships and full time positions will be in attendance. Recruiters will also be looking for graduate students and alumni to fill positions of all levels. Employers will include corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations.
