COUGAR WOMEN'S SOCCER TABBED FOR FOURTH IN CACC PRESEASON POLL

The Caldwell College women's soccer team was predicted to finish fourth this season by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference 2009 Preseason Poll, the league announced today. Last season the Cougars tied for fourth place with a conference record of 7-3-1 and advanced to the semifinals of the CACC Tournament. Philadelphia and Georgian Court, last year’s CACC Tournament finalists, tied for first in this year’s poll, which was voted on by the conference’s 13 head coaches.

10 STUDENT-ATHLETES SET TO JOIN CALDWELL WOMEN'S SOCCER

The Caldwell College women’s soccer team will add 10 new players for the fall of 2009, coach Nate Guagliardi announced. The recruiting, which consists of eight incoming freshmen and two transfers students, joins 13 returnees from last year’s 8-11-1 squad that advanced to the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament.

PAKNIS RACKS UP FOUR GOALS IN 5-0 VICTORY OVER FELICIAN IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

Senior midfielder Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ/Manchester) proved to be unstoppable, scoring four goals as the Caldwell College women's soccer team beat Felician College, 5-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Wednesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The victory is the Cougars' first of the season and gives them a 1-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the CACC. Felician, which had won its previous three games, falls to 3-5, 2-2 CACC.

WOMEN'S SOCCER REMAINS WINLESS AFTER LOSING TO QUEENS

The Caldwell College women's soccer team failed to pick up its first win of the season on Wednesday, losing to Queens College 3-1 in a non-conference game. The loss is the Cougars' sixth straight to begin the season, while the Knights improve to 3-1. Senior midfielder Samantha Rinks (Corinth, TX/Billy Ryan) scored the Cougars' only goal in the ninth minute.

The Caldwell College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to Molloy, 2-0 Monday night at the Dean Skelos Sports Complex. The result marks the fourth time the Cougars (0-5) have been shut out this season. The Lions improve to 2-2 with the win.

A pair of goals in the final five minutes of the second half allowed Holy Family University to defeat the Caldwell College women's soccer team, 4-2 in the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match of the season for both teams Saturday afternoon. Senior midfielder Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ/Manchester) scored both goals for the Cougars, who fall to 0-4 on the season. Holy Family, which won the CACC title in 2007, improved to 2-4.

The result keeps the Cougars scoreless in three games this season and drops their record to 0-3. The Pioneers, who are ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA Division II national poll, remain unbeaten at 4-0.
