CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis squad was ranked ninth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll, the league announced. Conference newcomer Concordia was picked to win the league by the poll, which was voted on by the CACC's nine head coaches.
The Cougars, coached by Bruce Hamburger, return six players from last year's team that placed seventh with a 1-6 record in conference duals. Among the returnees is sophomore Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield, NJ/Bergenfield), who was the Cougars' No. 2 singles player last season. Ndhlovu represented Caldwell at the 2008 CACC singles and doubles tournaments.
Caldwell opens its 2009 schedule with a CACC dual with Holy Family on Saturday, Sept. 6. The matches begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts.
