ALPHA SIGMA LAMBDA

Alpha Sigma Lambda is the adult honor society. To qualify for membership, students must be earning their first bachelor's degree, must have accumulated a minimum of thirty six Caldwell College credits, and must maintain an overall grade point average of at least 3.7.

ALPHA SIGMA LAMBDA NEWS

The Zeta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL), the adult honor society, held a meeting and election of officers on Saturday, January 16, 1999, during the New Student Orientation. It is a pleasure to announce the election of two new officers. Sherri London accepted the nomination for President. Sherri has been a Continuing Education student at Caldwell College since spring 1995. She is a Business major with a minor in Computer Science. Jean Marie DuHamel will be ASL's new Treasurer. Jean Marie, a Criminal Justice major who has been attending Caldwell since spring 1995, will be graduating in May.

Anne Pecha, coordinator for the ASL program, would like to express her thanks to the outgoing officers, Lynn Lawson, Treasurer, and Linda Matz, Secretary. Lynn and Linda have served as officers for two years. Fran Faragi will continue her term as Vice President and Vickie Melograno will remain Publications Coordinator.

Alpha Sigma Lambda held the induction of new members on Sunday, March 14, 1999. Those eligible for membership were notified at the end of February. Candidates for membership in ASL must be earning their first bachelor's degree, must have earned forty-five credits at Caldwell College, and must maintain an overall grade point average of at least 3.7. GRADUATION HONORS

To be eligible for degrees with distinction, students must be in attendance at the College for a minimum of two years and must have attempted no fewer than 60 credits at Caldwell College exclusive of CLEP, TECEP, ACT/PEP and Prior Learning Assessment credits, that is, those credits not formally taken at the College for grades. Honors are determined on the basis of the student's cumulative GPA at Caldwell College and are as follows:

DEPARTMENTAL HONORS

Numerous departmental honors as well as other awards are made at Honors Convocation, a formal event held in May.
