Application
Process for International Students
International students prosper from small class sizes and individual attention from professors. Students educated outside the United States must demonstrate their qualifications for study in the U.S., by submitting the following documents in certified English:
- A completed application
- A non-refundable check or money-order in the amount of $40.00, payable to Caldwell College
- Secondary school transcripts
- College transcripts with a cumulative grade point average (transfer students only).
- TOEFL or SAT scores (if available).
- An essay
- Copies of all I-20s (U.S. school transfer students only).
- Copy of social security card (if available).
Students educated in languages other than English must demonstrate their current level of English language proficiency through submission of transcripts showing English language study and/or scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Upon entry to Caldwell College, these students will be tested for Math and English language proficiency and placed, if necessary, in appropriate English for Non-Native Speakers courses. If a student does not meet the necessary intermediate English language standards, she/he may be required to complete Fall and Spring English for Non-Native Speakers courses before registering for classes. An additional 1-2 academic years may be required to complete the student's degree.
After our Admission Counselors review the student's application , further instructions will be mailed to the student, along with an application for the Caldwell College Form I-20, if necessary. The Form I-20 is an official government form, certificate of eligibility for F-1 student status. A Form I-20 is required for all non-immigrants, applying for full-time study in F-1 status at a United States federally approved academic institution. The Form I-20 is needed to apply for a student visa from the student's local American Embassy.
The application deadline for students applying for Fall 2008 is July 1, 2008. No applications will be accepted beyond this date. We will also not accept any I-20 Applications after July 1, 2008 due to lack of processing time.
