ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS AFFILIATIONS

The New Jersey Department of Labor has determined that all categories of health related professions will grow substantially over the next several years, and that career opportunities will continue to expand for young men and women who seek fulfilling endeavors as providers of health care. Major advances in technology coupled with a higher percentage of elderly have forced our health care system to enlarge. Caldwell has sought to fill the health professional void by seeking out exceptional students to enter our many seven year programs or solid students to follow the more traditional professional degree route.

The Science department of Caldwell College initiated educational collaborative agreements with many health related graduate/professional institutions in order to aid our graduates and students who are interested in becoming health care providers.

Our seven year programs allow exceptional students to condense the time required for a professional degree from 8 years to 7 years by allowing these students to substitute their last year at Caldwell for their first year at one of our affiliated institutions. That is this program offers the exceptional student the opportunity to earn B.A. degree in biology after three years of study at Caldwell and one complete year of study in an affiliated institution. This first year at the affiliated institution is also accepted towards their professional degree. Our seven year programs are highly competitive, require that the student be accepted by both Caldwell and the affiliated institution before entering Caldwell, and to maintain an agreed upon GPA and test scores.

We also offer the traditional eight year program with four years of study at Caldwell College (completing the BA degree) and four years of study at a professional school. This program allows students the time to complete a bachelors degree at a normal pace but still have preferential admissions treatment at one of our affiliated institutions.

  • NYU- Dental School,
  • Various medical Schools,

We are also very proud to announce that in 2004 two of our students were selected to participate in the Research Program at Cornell Medical College. This program is highly competitive since it has only 25 seats with an applicant pool of 750 nationwide.

Caldwell’s science department is dedicated to teaching. We have low student to teacher ratios, laboratory sections are taught by dedicated faculty, and the student body is small and close. Our laboratories are newly remolded. This allows our students to achieve.
