Access the Advising Module on the Web and check for holds (student accounts, library, health).  Holds will also be posted outside the Registrar’s Office.   All holds must be removed prior to registration; you will be denied both on-line access and in-person registration if there is a hold on your account.

If you have decided to change your major, obtain the form at the Registrar’s Office.

How to prepare a preliminary schedule for an advisement meeting:

  • Review course recommendations in the Core Curriculum.

  • Access your records on the Advisement Module for information on your Core and major aims.  Remember to refresh and recalc!  If you plan to change your major, check the aims for your intended major under Requirements.  Refer also to the Caldwell College Catalog.
  • Identify Core courses that are still needed.  If you have decided on a major, review the requirements on the major aim.  Next, review the listing of course offerings in the published Course Offering Schedule for the upcoming semester, and select courses.  You may find courses and their current enrollment on the Web, under Academics and the Course Search tab.  This will assist you in the
    construction of your schedule.
  • Prepare preliminary schedule with alternate choices.  Use the Advisement Module to check the number of seats still available for courses you select.
  • Make an appointment and meet with your advisor to discuss the schedule which may be adjusted after it is reviewed by your advisor.
  • Obtain your advisor’s signature on the Registration form.  If you have a second advisor, be sure to obtain that signature before registering on-line or in person.  Your advisor will also remove the Advisement Hold at this meeting.  Before you leave your advisor’s office, verify that the Hold has been released.
  • If you have met with your advisor, and the No Advisement Hold appears as you attempt to register on-line, contact your advisor to have it removed, or go to the Registrar’s Office with your signed registration form.  Once the hold is removed, you must go out of the module and then come back in, to register.
  • Once web registration is closed, students will have to adjust their schedules in person, in the Registrar’s Office.  If a course is not listed on the original Registration Form, it will be necessary to use an Add/drop form, signed by your advisor.

Helpful Hints for on-line registration:

If a course is closed, choose another section or a course from your alternate list.

If you register for less than 12 credits, you will need to add enough credits to be full-time.

You will have the opportunity to go in and out of the web, until on-line registration closes. If you are unable to complete a schedule, return to your advisor for further assistance.

If you attempt to register on-line and a message appears that states: Too many sessions are active right now, please try again, later.  You will need to try again, in a few minutes.  Being prepared with your course choices will result in less congestion in the system.   Once connected, if you are inactive for several minutes, your time will lapse and you will have to login again.

Registering for unapproved courses (i.e. a second physical science Core course), not found in your degree program may result in a delay on your degree completion for graduation.  If you register for an inappropriate or incorrect course, (i.e. Graduate or External Degree course) you will be removed from it.  This may result in fewer course choices because of the time that will elapse before you are able to select another course for your schedule.
