FIELD NURSE EXPERIENCE SCHOOL NURSING/TEACHER OF HEALTH
Field studies are integral to the School Nurse/Non-instructional and School Nurse/Teacher of Health Endorsement Program through course work requirements. The culminating field experience requirement is placement in an approved school setting for a period of eight to 12 weeks under the supervision of a cooperating school nurse, a cooperating teacher of health and a college nurse/teacher of health endorsement supervisor. Admission to Field Experience is dependent upon satisfactory completion of course work in studies and the approval of the Division of Education. After course evaluation by an advisor in the Continuing Education Department, a formal application must be filed with the Director of Field Experiences according to the guidelines established by the Education Department.
The field experience for school nurses is accompanied by a one credit
seminar
(ED 458).
