AN341G Ethnicity and Religion in Southern Spain OR SO341G Andalusian Culture - Students will explore Spanish Moorish culture through lectures, and tours through the Seville area. AN341G can be used to satisfy – AN225 Cultural Anthropology (core), & SO341G will satisfy - SO323 Sociology of Racial and Cultural Groups (sociology & criminal justice majors elective within major).
SP341 Seminar in Spain explores the history
and culture of the Spanish province of Andalucia. Readings and assignments
will enrich a 7-day stay in Seville which will include visits to the main
cultural and historical sites.
Satisfies foreign language core & major/minor requirements.
Total cost includes, roundtrip air from Newark, round trip transfers,6 nights accommodations at first class hotels, buffet breakfast and dinner daily, All sight seeing including entrance fees, Professional Tour Guide, Deluxe air conditioned motor coach, Hotel taxes & service charges, 1 piece of luggage porterage. Registration begins on Monday, ,August 27th in the Center for Graduate & Continuing Studies. You must have a $300 non-refundable deposit to secure your place.

Itinerary
- Day 1 - January 3 – Depart Newark for Spain.
- Day 2 – January 4 -Arrive Seville Airport and transfer to hotel
in Torremelinos. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Welcome drink at dinner at the hotel - Day 3 – January 5 - Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to Seville. Walking tour of Seville including entrance fee to the Cathedral, Royal Alcazar, and the Museo Archaeologico. Dinner this evening is included at the hotel.
- Day 4 – January 6 - Breakfast at the hotel. Full day guided
excursion to Cordoba including entrance fees to Mosque-Cathedral. Return
to hotel for dinner.
Note: this is the longest day of the tour 10-12 hours in total duration. - Day 5 – January 7 - Breakfast at hotel. Full day guided excursion to Granada including entrance fees to Alhambra and Generalife. Stop in Sante Fe. Dinner is included at the hotel.
- Day 6 – January 8 - Breakfast at the hotel. Full day guided excursion bus trip to Malaga, and Mijas. Return to the hotel for dinner.
- Day 7 – January 9 - Breakfast at hotel. Full day free. Farewell dinner is at the hotel, followed by Evening Flamenco show.
- Day 8 – January 10 - Breakfast at the hotel and morning transfers to Seville Airport for return flight home to Newark.
