Professor Stroud was born in Lima, Peru. She received her Ph.D. from New York University where she specialized in Latin American Literature. Professor Stroud is an Associate Professor at Caldwell University and teaches courses in Spanish language, translation and in Spanish and Latin American Literature. Her interests reflect the variety of courses she offers. These range from Pre-Colombian and Colonial literature, to Caribbean literature, the Latin American Novel and Short Story. Currently, she is working on a new course on Spanish cinema that she plans to offer to coincide with the New York Film Festival Latin Beat series. Professor Stroud has also worked as a translator and in publishing.
She has recently completed a Grammar Manual for beginner and intermediate students and is working on an Anthology of Spanish women writers.
