Professor of Communication Arts
Bob Mann is Professor and Chair of Communication Arts at Caldwell University and the host of “Let’s Consider the Source” on Sirius XM Public Radio. That weekly program focuses on major issues involving the American media. At Caldwell, Mann serves as President of the Faculty Council, created the Communication Arts major. His other projects include a monthly program entitled “Humanities Connection” on WFDU 89.1 FM in the New York metropolitan area. That show is produced by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. Mann also hosts “Health First” for Holy Name Medical Center. This past year he has made numerous TV guest appearances to discuss media issues.
Before becoming a professor, Bob worked full-time in broadcasting at WOR Radio, WNET-TV Ch. 13, and UA-Columbia Cable TV (now part of Cablevision). He started his career as a newscaster and sportscaster at WOBM Radio in Toms River immediately after college. Bob has also taught at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Montclair State University. He still produces educational videos for FDU through his company, Mann Media Inc. For fifteen years (1989-2004), Bob hosted radio and TV shows and voiced commercials for Hackensack University Medical Center.
Bob was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and lives in Bergen County, New Jersey. He is a major New York Yankee baseball fan who spends too much time and money on season tickets and once played at the team’s Fantasy Camp.
His son Chris is a comedy actor and writer who works for a New York City production house. His significant other, Cathy Lundquist is a kindergarten teacher in New Jersey and a Ph.D. candidate at Fordham University.
Professor Mann has a BA from Fordham University in Communications and Political Science and an MA in Communication Arts from Montclair State University where he won the Graduate Achievement Award
