Requirements for a French Major

Degree: Bachelor of Arts
Liberal Arts Core: 60 credits
French: 30 credits
Open Electives: 30 credits
Total: 120 credits

Students who major in French should complete:

FR 321 Advanced French Grammar I
FR 322 Advanced French Grammar II
FR 325 French Conversation and Composition I
FR 326 French Conversation and Composition II
FR 329 French Civilization I
FR 330 French Civilization II
FR 401 French Literature I
FR 402 French Literature II
FR 408 Twentieth Century French Literature

In addition to the above required courses, students must take an additional French course numbered 300 and above, or LA 301. The department recommends that students with a major in French complete at least two years of study in a second foreign language.
