CO275 Broadcast Journalism
CO/SO312 Media and Society
CO420 Senior Media Seminar (serves as Outcomes Assessment)

* CO201 is a prerequisite for all practical courses for Communication Arts courses. It is not a prerequisite for “Theory” classes. It is strongly urged that Communication Arts majors take this as a first course.

Performance Courses – Choose two of the following:

CO320 Television Performance
CO325 Advanced Broadcast Journalism
CO350 Radio Broadcasting

Technical/Production – Must take both of the following:

CO210 Television Production
CO310 Video Editing

Theory – Choose two of the following:

CO250 Film History: Theory and Criticism
CO260 Film Genres
CO305 TV Show Genres
CO314 Seminar in Contemporary Cinema
CO330 Children’s Television
CO340 The Director as Auteur
CO390 The American Sitcom

Elective (3 credits)

Any course related to Communication Arts from another department (with approval of advisor). Also, any additional course (beyond requirements) within the department. Internship or independent studies may be substituted for any course in the department, other than the four required courses, with the approval of the advisor.
