


Art Scholarship Applications/Portfolio Review
Art Scholarships are available for annual awards of up to $10000. Presidential scholarships are available for full tuition.
All Art Scholarship applicants must submit a portfolio. Scholarships are described on the Caldwell College website:
Recommendations for a competitive portfolio include:
- Evidence of drawing ability from direct observation involving figure drawing, still life, interiors, landscapes, or portraits.
- A variety of media may be used, such as pencil, graphite, charcoal, ink, watercolor, pastels, etc.
- Submit work that demonstrates sensitivity to color, design, composition, and line quality.
- The portfolio should reflect ability, curiosity and represent the artist in the best light.
A wide range of media may be submitted, including painting, photography, sculpture, video, wood, graphic design, ceramics and glass.
Portfolios of original artwork should be submitted to Caldwell Admissions or sent as Jpegs on a disk or 35mm color slides showing 15 to 20 examples of the student's best work. For slide portfolios, each slide must be clearly marked with the applicant's name. Slides should be sent in transparent loose-leaf holders. Portfolios must show name, email and phone number clearly on the outside.
Mail or deliver portfolios (Slides, Disk or Originals*) to the Caldwell Admissions office on or before:
Friday, February 2, 2007.

Friday, April 6, 2007.
*Caldwell College is not responsible for loss, or damage to original
artworks. Please label all artworks and portfolios with name, address,
phone, email.

Portfolio Pick-Up
Portfolios of original artwork may be picked up approx 2 weeks later from the Admissions Office. Enclose SASE if you would like your disk or slides returned to you.
