Art requirements:

Our Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Studio Arts is a program that represents a strong commitment to the study of the visual arts within a liberal arts tradition. The primary emphasis of this program is on creative studio production in the areas of drawing, print-making, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
Students begin their study in the foundation courses in two- and three-dimensional design and drawing. While courses in all studio areas are required, upper level electives allow for greater focus in a single area. Elective credits are available in photography, graphic design, ceramics, printmaking and art history.
Knowledge of art history is seen as necessary to intelligent studio development, as is an understanding of the attitudes, philosophies and language of the contemporary art world.
