TESTIMONIALS
"The
Scholars Program provided me with seminars which challenged me more
than any other classes I've taken. The program proved to me that I am
capable of graduate level work and assured me when it came time to apply
to graduate school. Ultimately, the Honors Project was a gratifying
experience because it was based on my ideas and hard work. For me, the
project marked the end of my time at Caldwell College."

"To
me, going to college is not just taking the 123 credits and getting
out of here as soon as possible. It is also exploring each area of education
and exposing myself to the different academic and extracurricular opportunities
so I can be a well-educated and a well-rounded person. One way I am
able to do this is through the Scholars Program. I recommend it for
every college student whose main goal in school is to learn and have
fun at the same time." - Eden Woredekal
"The Scholars Program was a positive experience for me because
it exposed me to new subjects. For example, I took Utopian Societies
with Dr. Susman. I had heard of the topic but never knew there was such
a depth to the material. Trips to places like the Whitney Museum and
The Brooklyn Museum exposed me to other issues and ideas. My learning
experience has been improved by the Scholars Program."
- Manise Rahming
The scholars program was an excellent opportunity to learn something
new and different...something other than accounting or business. It
has broadened my horizons and made me a more cultured and well read
student and person as a whole." - Latoya

"To the students who are considering whether or not to apply for
admission into the Caldwell College Scholars Program, my advise is like
Nike's. "Just Do It." The Scholars Program is academically
demanding and personally challenging. However, the benefits of participation
in the program are tremendous. You learn skills that enable you to be
proficient at research, critical thinking, public speaking, expressing
your ideas in a professional manner, and most importantly, prepare you
for graduate school or employment upon graduation from Caldwell. I would
like to thank all of the professors whose seminars I have taken in this
program, as well as the program director for the opportunity to grow
and develop as a student and a person by participating in the program."

"I've had a great experience so far teaching "Utopian Societies," my Scholars course this semester. The students are from a mix of majors, and they bring challenging questions and ideas to our discussions. We're reading books from different fields that are not usually brought together -- art, literature, psychology, women's studies, American studies. We can take a more experimental, process-oriented approach to class, looking at how as well as what we learn together. I'm really enjoying getting to know and work with these bright, interesting, motivated students." - Dr. Maxine Susman
"Our course on the European Union was very stimulating. We looked
at this unique, multi-faceted international experiment from many perspectives.
We even took a field trip into New York City to attend a seminar on
"EU and the Baltic States". It was our feeling that no one
should be ignorant of what's happening in contemporary Europe."
- Dr. Bernard O'Rourke
"The Academic Scholars Program is a wonderful way for students on this campus to extend and enhance their learning. The classes that are offered each semester are interesting and diverse. The final project is not only a challenge, but a creative, active experience. I have found the program to be rewarding in many ways, and I am sure I will continue to benefit from the instruction received." - Lauren Del Polito
"The Scholars Program is a phenomenal program because it engages students in higher academic learning. The program inspires students to think abstractly and enhances their abilities to think critically. I was privileged to be a member of the Scholar's Program. I would recommend this program to all students that strive for academic fitness and the opportunity to achieve it." - Christina Noelle Mouakkar
"The ScholarsProgram has allowed me to grow intellectually in addition to providing me with the opportunity to learn at a graduate level. I believe the scholars program has the ability to enrich scholars academically and prepare them for future achievements in their studies. I recommend this program to enthusiastic students who are willing to expand their knowledge and prepare themselves for academic success." - Nathalie Joseph
"I was part of the Scholars Program in my Junior and Senior years at Caldwell College. The program was both intellectually stimulating and challenging. The two classes I took in the program were Literature and Science and Seminar in Medieval Studies Both classes were very interesting and offered many options of study. In Literature and Science, I was introduced to many authors, writings and ideas that exceeded typical college research. In Seminar in Medieval Studies, I was offered elaborate information on the background to the Middle Ages and I furthered my study of literature and poetry by completing a project on troubadours. The program concluded with my scholars project. I completed a creative project which included eleven poems and an eight page introduction. I enjoyed the creative options offered for this project; it wasn't just a traditional research paper. I have met many interesting professors and students through he program. The Scholars Program is a rewarding experience I would recommend to students interested in exciting and different learning opportunities." - Joseph Corradino
