

CC Online Basic Workshop:
This workshop will serve as an introduction to Caldwell’s new learning management system.
This workshop is recommended for:
1) Users who are not comfortable with learning management systems (LMS).
2) Faculty who have never used Moodle before.
3) Those that are have used Blackboard for very basic uses (such as just posting a syllabus).
Participants will:
1) Learn of the names and definitions of the new LMS.
2) Be informed of the procedures for course creation and management.
3) Receive an overview of the WebAssist portal.
4) Navigate to their course in WebAssist and see their own content already migrated to WebAssist from Blackboard.
5) Be able to find and discover the basic functions of WebAssist. This consists of:
a. Profiles
b. Sending messages
c. Customizing course content
d. Editing course content
e. Uploading files
f. Creating a message forum
6) At the end of the workshop, faculty members will be able to login and view their current Spring 2011 classes in WebAssist. There will then be a personalized question and answer session for faculty that have any questions about their own classes and content.
Estimated Running Time: 60 minutes for workshop, 30 minutes reserved for Q&A.

CC Online Advanced Workshop:
This advanced workshop will cover the more advanced features of WebAssist. Faculty that attend this workshop should already be familiar with the CC Online portal.
This workshop is recommended for:
1) Users who have completed the Basic Workshop.
2) Faculty that have used Moodle before.
3) Users that do not need an introduction to the basic functions of Moodle.
Participants Will:
1) Learn to create student groups.
2) Discover the differences between different types of assignments.
3) Find how to grade assignments
4) Manage the grade book.
5) Check activity reports.
6) Create customized blocks.
7) Find how to create a Wiki.
8) Backup course content.
9) Create a class chat.
At the end of this workshop, faculty will once again be provided personalized assistance based on their own courses and content.
