Caldwell College Student Wins
New Jersey Work-Study Student of the Year Award
Caldwell College student Steven Bruno was recently honored for winning the state-wide Work Study Student of the Year award. He also received the Caldwell College Work Study Student of the Year honor and was recognized by the College at a luncheon on campus on Thursday, April 24.
The event was sponsored by the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administration (NEASEA). Through NEASEA all colleges who participate in the Federal Work Study Program are strongly encouraged to nominate a student. Once the nominees are submitted to NEASEA there are various regional contests throughout the country that decide on a winner and award scholarships. In the 17 year history of Caldwell's participation in NEASEA, this is the first time a Caldwell College student has received the state honor.
Steven Bruno was celebrated for his outstanding work performance at Caldwell College in the Athletics department. "It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Steven. I wish he had more hours. He is a great asset to have. He is a winner and greatly appreciated," said Mark Corino, Executive Director of Athletics at Caldwell College. I was surprised and honored," Bruno said.
Bruno is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration. He has worked in the Athletics department at the college for two years where it is evident that his maturity and leadership abilities have proven that he is a valuable asset to the college.
