Caldwell College Business Division Graduate Lands Position at Goldman Sachs

Don't underestimate the classes at Caldwell College and how much you will have to study and work, says Ashley Wilkinson, a 2008 Caldwell College graduate with a B.S. in Financial Economics. Yes, the individualized attention is terrific. The fact that you are not a number in a crowd and that the teachers are accessible and friendly are all outstanding qualities that make Caldwell College unique. But at the same time, Wilkinson says, Caldwell definitely challenges you academically and prepares you for your future. He should know. Even before receiving his diploma, Wilkinson had a position in hand as an operations analyst for Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City. A native of the Bahamas, Wilkinson's tasks at the global investment and banking and securities firm may range from executing trades to charting trends. He also interned with the UPS Finance Department in New York City in the spring semester of 2008.

He has been involved in a number of activities on Caldwell's campus ranging from being Vice President of the International Student Organization to performing in the Broadway Opera Workshop, the R&B Pop Concerts and with the choir. He also helped out his professor and fellow students by tutoring and becoming a teaching assistant. Wilkinson was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, an international business honors society, and won the departmental award in his major, Financial Economics.

He says it has been very enriching to attend Caldwell College and see how students from so many different cultures interact with one another. There are "quality people," he said. "Caldwell is a place you can meet friends and make bonds to last a lifetime."
