Business Division Associate Dean O’Rourke Named to Irish Education 100

Caldwell, NJ – December 20, 2011 – Caldwell College’s Associate Dean of the Business Division Bernard O’Rourke has been named to the 2011 “Irish Education 100” by the Irish Voice newspaper. The list highlights leading Irish figures in education in the United States.

This is the third year in a row that Professor O’Rourke has received the honor. O’Rourke, of Essex Fells, NJ and the other honorees were special guests at reception in New York City on December 14 and are featured in a special section of the Irish Voice.

O’Rourke is also chair of the Business Division of the college and chair of the college’s Business Advisory Council. He is immediate past president of the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association, a group of the deans and chairs of business at 43 higher level institutions and colleges in New Jersey.

He has been active in education for many years and served as an elected member and president of two local school boards in New Jersey. He testified to congressional committees on issues affecting education in New Jersey.

O’Rourke is a native of Dublin, Ireland and was raised in Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan. He earned a B.A. in economics and a diploma in European Law from University College Dublin. He received a barrister-at-law degree from King’s Inns, Dublin. He also earned an MBA from Fordham University.
