Robert DiCerboRobert DiCerbo: Caldwell College fit my busy lifestyle

When Robert DiCerbo decided to pursue a college degree as an Adult Continuing Education student, he knew he'd have to find a school that fit his busy schedule. That's where Caldwell College came in. On top of a full-time job, he was able to complete 9 to 12 credits per semester and graduate summa cum laude in 2009. "Caldwell College offered me flexibility with class schedules that fit into my lifestyle." DiCerbo said.

In the end, it wasn't just the class schedules, but also the classes themselves, that impressed Robert. He went into every course looking to get as much as he could out of each one, and he wasn't disappointed. One memorable experience took place in his Ethical Business Strategy class when he and fellow classmates were involved in Glo-Bus by McGraw-Hill, a computer-based application that simulates the process of running a large corporation. Competing against 2,300 other teams of students from business schools around the globe, the Caldwell College team posted #4 in their industry in the post-semester invitational event in 2008.

His most rewarding moment, however, came during his Financial Economics class his senior year, when he saw how everything he had learned fit together. "Half way through my final course, all the other classes made tangible sense," he explained. "Caldwell College has prepared me academically for my future career and aspirations."

But Robert says he took away more than academics from Caldwell College. "Maintaining full-time work and aggressive academics showed me how far I could push myself. It was challenging, but once you make up your mind to do something you just go for it." And he should know. Not only did he reach his goal of earning a B.S. in Financial Economics, he was recently inducted into the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association (NJCBAA) Honor Society, which accepts only the top 1% of business students in the state of New Jersey.

Robert has always been driven by what he can accomplish next. His future plans include a career in the financial industry "working with corporate clients on their financing needs." Thanks to his hard work and dedication, coupled with Caldwell College's quality academics, flexible scheduling, and "professors who really care," Robert is now one step closer to making that dream a reality.
