Caldwell College Joins the Common Application System
Caldwell, NJ – August 19, 2011 – Prospective undergraduate students will now find it faster and easier to apply to Caldwell College by using the Common Application.
Caldwell College has become a member of Common Application, a not-for-profit organization that provides online and print forms that can be submitted to more than 450 membership schools nationwide. The standardized system radically simplifies the work of applying to college.
Vice-President of Enrollment Management Joseph Posillico praised the Common Application as a valuable service for both first-year applicants and transfer students.
“We’re excited to be a member of the Common Application. This will streamline the admissions process for many of our prospective students and will also introduce us to students we many not otherwise have the opportunity to engage during the admissions process,’’ he said.
The Common Application information can be sent to any participating school, allowing students to spend less time on red tape and busy work. It also makes it easier for students to gather records and other information from guidance counselors and teachers.
Until last year, transcripts, evaluations and other records were only available in PDF form that had to printed, copied and mailed to schools. But with the Common Application, school staff have the option of completing the forms online with the Common App Online Forms system.
The Common Application process is used by a broad array of schools, from small private colleges to large public universities. It’s used only by schools that employ a holistic approach to admissions, including standardized tests, transcripts, timed essay forms, letters of recommendation and broader campus diversity considerations.
The members of the Common Application have worked together for nearly four decades to ensure that the Common Application is given equal consideration to a school’s own application forms, although many members use it as their only admissions application.
The mission of the Common Application is to provide reliable services that promote equity, access and integrity in the college application process. For more information, visit www.commonapp.org
