Over The Top: St. Jude Team Far Surpasses Goal
The Caldwell College St. Jude Team culminated its year-long fundraising with its "Up Til Dawn" event April 25 to April 26 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The group took over the Student Center for an all-night lock-in that celebrated the students' achievement and commitment to children being treated for cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Caldwell College group far surpassed their goal of $12,000.00 and raised $20,178.00.
CBS 2's Meteorologist John Elliott came out to be a part of the activities and videotape the dancing and cheering during the "Big Reveal" at 6 a.m. He ran a segment on the Caldwell College team during his weathercast on Monday April 28.
The overnight event included free food, live music, a DJ, an inflatable, a caricaturist, balloon animals, Xbox tournaments, board games, a scavenger hunt, raffle tickets, tricky tray prizes and much more. The students reached out to the community and beyond for donations of all kinds and the generosity from outside vendors was truly amazing.
