Selling a Mercedes-Benz In Class
If you were out in the parking lot on March 18, chances are you might have been convinced to buy a Mercedes-Benz automobile. Caldwell College Management major Brandon Acikbaht acted as a Mercedes representative and presented a sales pitch on the luxury automobile to the others in his class who were posing as car buyers.
The project was an assignment for Business Professor Tom Keen's Sales Class BU416. Throughout the semester, the students in the class presented several lively, interesting sales pitches on a product of their choice.
The students were asked to put together a 5 to 7 minute sales pitch and then present the pitch to their class. Professor Keen said the assignment had two requirements-a big opening and an interesting presentation. Keen said the goal of the project was to have the students see the connection between the class and what they will have to do to sell themselves on a job interview and in their career pursuits.
