A Cappella Concert to Benefit Caldwell College Autism Center

Purple Haze, a co-ed a cappella group from Northwestern University, will perform a benefit concert in the Alumni Theatre at Caldwell College on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 7 p.m. The concert, “Voices for Autism,” will raise support and awareness of the Caldwell College Autism Center, which is set to open in Fall 2010.

The Autism Center will benefit both the local community and students of the Ph.D. program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) at Caldwell College. The Autism Center will provide evaluations and intervention to individuals with autism and their families. Caldwell College is a leader in training professionals to work with individuals with Autism. New Jersey has the highest prevalence of autism in the nation with the CDC reporting that 1 in 94 persons is affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder. To meet the need for trained professionals in ABA, the College began the first Ph.D. program in ABA in New Jersey in Fall 2009.
