Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a well-developed field of study among the helping and education professions. ABA entails the comprehensive use of empirically validated principles of human learning to enhance the development, abilities, and self-direction skills of both children and adults. Caldwell College's Graduate Programs in ABA specifically focus on the successful application of ABA to meet the educational needs of people with autism-spectrum disorders and cognitive delays. With New Jersey leading the country in the incidence of autism, with 1 in 94 children affected, there is a growing need for professionals trained in ABA in early intervention programs, self-contained programs, and public school districts.
To address that need, Caldwell College offers an 18-credit Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in ABA and a 39-credit Masters Degree in ABA, the first and only of its kind in NJ. The ABA programs are approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®, Inc., as meeting the coursework requirements to sit for certification in ABA.
