CALDWELL COLLEGE ESTABLISHES PARTNERSHIP WITH RVCC FOR EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Caldwell, NJ – June 17, 2009 - Caldwell College has established a partnership with Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) which will enable Somerset and Hunterdon county residents to obtain their baccalaureate degrees or certifications in Education while taking courses at RVCC's North Branch Campus in North Branch, New Jersey.

The new agreement, which was signed June 9, will bring Caldwell courses to RVCC that will assist students in earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and certification programs in Early Childhood Educationand special education.

The program is being offered through Caldwell College's Center for Graduate and Continuing Studies, which focuses on the unique needs of adult undergraduate and graduate learners by offering flexible schedules, personal academic advisement, a caring atmosphere and integrity and excellence in teaching.

Dennis Delong, Ph.D., Dean of the Center for Graduate and Continuing Studies says Caldwell College is pleased to enter this partnership with Raritan Valley Community College. "The partnership will enable students from Raritan Valley the ability to seamlessly transition to Caldwell College by taking Caldwell courses on the Raritan Valley campus, thereby extending the Caldwell "promise" to Somerset and Hunterdon county residents and allow them to obtain a baccalaureate degree or certification in Education while staying close to home."

RVCC President Dr. Casey Crabill is also very happy with the agreement. "We are excited about the education programs that Caldwell College is bringing to our campus. The degree and certification programs will give our graduates who are interested in teaching the opportunity to continue their education right here on campus. Students are permitted to transfer a maximum of 90 credits into the program, although 50 percent of the credits in their content area major must be completed in Caldwell College courses. In addition to traditional classroom-based classes, some courses may be taken online.

Scholarship opportunities are available, including a 25 percent tuition discount scholarship for members of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, and a 15% tuition discount for those who have completed an associate's degree with a 2.75 GPA.

Although the courses are offered at RVCC's North Branch Campus, students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of programs at Caldwell College and are welcomed to all the same services and activities as all Caldwell College students. An orientation program will be offered on August 29 at Caldwell College for those students starting the program for the fall semester.
