My process in making art involves finding ways to convert my ideas, thoughts and feelings into something that can be seen and experienced in a tangible way. “A Tree Conceptually” is an installation consisting of natural tree roots and branches cast in clay. My intention is to convey the chaos and complexity of nature.

I am interested in color, space and the spontaneous approach of laying down organic lines and shapes wherever they need to be. My work breaks down the obstacle of space and of painting only on the canvas, allowing my organic form to extend beyond and into the surrounding environment. Line and shape are allowed to flow freely to and fro, between the canvas and space beyond. The white areas are important, both in the canvas and on the surrounding space for the way they free up the flow of the painted forms, allowing them to breathe.

My work is about representation and the cultural heritage of the Serbian nation. Using my self portraits as a metaphor for my country, these paintings attempt to tackle thoughts of emptiness, displacement and alienation.

My installation is a mix media of computer generated patterns and porcelain figures. The figures are rhinos and they seem to be walking out of the print on one wall and into the print on the other, although some will get sidetracked and enter a wall for fun. The work contains an air of fun and playfulness, as this is what motivates me more than anything else, in my art. And so this installation brings the viewer into the world I live in, not with miniature rhinos walking out of walls and prints, but the idea that maybe they should. I hope the viewer will enjoy this work, while they examine the little fellas on their pilgrimage across the floor.
