A Liberal
Arts Foundation
At the core of a Caldwell College education is our liberal arts
curriculum designed to develop your critical thinking skills; appreciate
diverse cultures; and increase your moral and civic awareness. You
are provided with general knowledge and intellectual skills, rather
than more specialized occupational, scientific or artistic skills.
You
will touch the major branches of learning in our liberal arts core:
the humanities; the physical and biological sciences and mathematics;
and the social sciences.
The
knowledge, intellectual skills, sensitivities and creativity you
will acquire transcend any major you study and any profession you
enter.
And,
Caldwell College's liberal arts core provides exactly what employers
want in their new employees. A recent survey of employers by the
Association of American Colleges and Universities indicated that
employers surveyed wanted the following:
- 81% want new employees with better critical thinking and
analytical reasoning skills
- 89% want more emphasis on the ability to effectively communicate
We believe strongly in our liberal arts core. And believe how you
are learning is as important as what you are learning. We offer
our courses in smaller classes to ensure your success in the classroom.
small class sizes
Caldwell College has one of the highest rates of classes under 20, not just of colleges in New Jersey, but the entire United States. Studies which correlate student success with class size confirms our commitment to providing you with a learning environment that provides you the best opportunity for success.
